July 2010

July has been a really hectic month but a great success and a few weeks ago at Kent County we had our 103rd win of the season. In fact, July has been a great month so far, and it kicked off at the Hickstead Derby with me standing Champion Hack on Golden Gunner and Reserve Champion ROR with Night Prayers and Reserve Champion Riding Horse Riding with Travelling Solar. Since the Derby, we have notched up 9+ wins in just three weeks. And one of those wins led me to stand Supreme Ridden Champion Horse at the Festival of The Horse with Azarax, my Lightweight Hunter.

Our schedule of shows, home preparation and training, plus a spot of judging at the Great Yorkshire and Royal Welsh, has meant the days have been challenging, fun and a success – all thanks to a great team of staff, owners and my family. We now have 18 horses that are qualified for HOYs, so we have our work cut out. In the next few days we will be at the Royal International Horse Show, so there is a lot of tack cleaning, trimming, grooming, as well as riding to be done in the next three of four days.

Once we finish at the RIHS, we are off to Dublin for a few days, which I am really looking forward to!
